A friend of Matisse, Leger, Modigliani and others, Gris is best considered a Cubist painter, whose insight and technique expanded the worlds of art and theater (created ballet costumes for Sergei Diaghilev and the famous Ballet Russes). Leda is a brilliant example of his talent and will be a delight to stitch. Measures 11″x 14.5″ on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are partial to silk threads for this piece, but are equally happy to select appropriate Mandarin floss, silk/merino wool blend or silk threads to help complete.
