Now’s your time to stitch Warhol! The artist’s studio is as much an idea as it is a place. It’s structure and organization reflect the artist’s mind and method. The studio might look a chaotic mess to a visitor, but the artist can distil that dispersed energy into something beautiful. A studio that is organized and tightly orchestrated might be another artists mode. Creating a sense of spontaneity from a carefully choreographed composition is another kind of alchemy. Either way, the creative process is the same. The artist will find a workspace in any circumstance. Whether a closet or an airplane hangar, it is a place for ideas and an idea of place. Andy Warhol’s Silkscreen prints included in Hammel’s art: Campbell’s Soup Cans, Marilyn Monroe, Flowers, Elizabeth Taylor, John Lennon, Debbie Harry, Mao, Cows, Dollar Sign and the famous curved couch – an icon in itself.
