Thisis a detail of a larger tapestry – the New Jerusalem from the Apocalypse Tapestry of Angers. The full fie panel tapestry were woven between 1377 and 1380 by a Parisian weaver named Nicolas Bataille, from designs made by the King’s (King of France, John II) painter, Hennequin de Bruges, who drew his inspiration from miniatures ornamenting manuscripts.
