Description
Marie Sibille Merian (1647-1717) was a remarkable woman, passionately interested in insects and their transformations. She was a fine painter and superb naturalist, one of
the first woman scientists we know of. Her observations of insects and their relationships with plants revolutionized botany and zoology. One of her more spectacular paintings – Bird with Snake is a lovely canvas to stitch! Measures 11″ x 14″ on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are partial to silk threads for this canvas, but are equally happy to select appropriate wool, perle cotton or silk threads to help complete. Also available in a larger size. Please contact us if you would like us to add the fibers of your choice.
