This remarkable tree painting was painted by an elephant artist named Tukta by his mahout (caretaker). It has been adapted to needlepoint canvas as one of a delightful series of paintings by elephants to showcase remarkable artists that are not human and to help support a very worthwhile organization. Tukta is one of various elephants who are cared for by The Asian Elephant Art and Conservation Project (AEACP), a charity dedicated to saving the diminishing number of Asian Elephants left on our planet.
Tree (our title) shows the amazing intelligence and creativity of these wonderful creatures. Measures 9″ x 12″ on 14 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are happy to select appropriate wool, silk or perle cotton threads to help complete. Please contact us if you would like us to add the fibers of your choice.
