Description
According to the National Gallery where this painting resides, Renoir’s ‘Umbrellas’ shows the artist at two
separate points in his career, the second of which was a moment of
crisis as he fundamentally reconsidered his painting style when he was becoming increasingly disillusioned with the Impressionist technique. The Umbrellas shows a bustling Paris street in the rain. This is the smaller of three sizes, measuring 11″ x 18″. Best rendered in silk or perle cotton threads on 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas.
