Michelozzo di Bartolommeo, the architect of the di Medici’s new palace on Via Larga, designed a rectangular room in the interior part of the palace to serve as the family’s chapel. The frescoes painted on the walls of the chapel are by Benozzo Gozzoli referred to as The Chapel of the Magi. There are many figures in the Procession of the Magi and this particular segment are members of the young king’s immediate circle. This is part of the fresco tiles that is very well adapted to needlepoint. Measures 11″ x 15 ” – as the smaller of several sizes – on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are happy to select and add appropriate colors of wool or silk fibers to help complete. Please indicate your mesh preference in the note section at checkout.
