Description
Beginning in 1909 Bakst worked mostly as a stage-designer, designing sets for Greek tragedies, and in 1908 made a name as a scene-painter for Diaghilev with the Ballets Russes. Though he is best remembered for his amazingly beautiful costume designs, he was also a marvelous easel painter and portrait artist. We believe Supper to be one of his best portraits. Perhaps you’ll love her as much as we do. Silk recommended for this 12″ x 18″ mono deluxe needlepoint canvas, but we would be equally happy to select and add appropriate wool or silk threads to help complete. Available on 14, 16 or 18 mesh. Please indicate your mesh preference in the Notes section at Checkout. If you do not provide a preference we will send 14 count. Available in two larger sizes. Please contact us if you would like us to add the fibers of your choice.
