The stunning Art Deco style prints by French Fashion illustrator Marthe Romme, originally created using the ‘Pochoir’ technique, are beautifully decorative and vibrant in colour. The Pochoir technique (meaning ‘stencil’ in French) was a popular way to create prints in France in the 20th Century, championed by artists such as Matisse and Picasso amongst others. This un-mechanised process of producing imagery is usually used to create relatively simple art pieces but Romme has used this technique to create highly intricate illustrations. One of the series of prints she created is called “Les Douze Mois de l’Année” – which includes 12 fashion illustrations each representing a month of the year. Spring is one of her series of Seasons. Kit includes an 11″ x 14″ – the smaller of various sizes – on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas and all the pretty, easy-to-use silk or silk/merino wool blend threads needed to complete. Please indicate your mesh and thread preference in the note section at checkout just before submit order. Collect the seasons for a fabulous wall display or tossed onto a comfy seating area. Available in alternate sizes.
