Description
This is a painting that was intended for a round fan. According to scholars, the painted area meant for the fan is usually cut out and you don’t see the entire print. Kunisada painted during the early and mid 1800’s; this Snow fan was painted in 1831 depicting a courtesan whose hair is decorated and is painted in the “sasabeni” technique. The canvas measures 11″ x 14″ and will make a wonderful wall display or an accent pillow for a comfy seating area.
