Hiroshige was born in the late 1700’s in Edo (today’s Tokyo). He was a contemporary of another great Japanese master – Hokusai. Hiroshige created more than 8,000 works during his lifetime; exploring many facets of his contemporary daily life in his native country. Monkey Bridge is a lovely scene which is sophisticated without being overly complicated. Measures 8″ x 12″ on14 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are partial to silk or merino wool for this piece, but will gladly select and add appropriate wool, silk or perle cotton threads to help complete.
