Michelozzo di Bartolommeo, the architect of the di Medici’s new palace on Via Larga, designed a rectangular room in the interior part of the palace to serve as the family’s chapel. The frescoes painted on the walls of the chapel are by Benozzo Gozzoli referred to as The Chapel of the Magi. There are many figures in the Procession of the Magi and this particular one is an Angel watching over the procession, measuring 14.5″ x 22″.
