Manet was born in 1832 and died in 1883. He was one of the first 19th Century artists to paint modern life and thus a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism. His early masterworks “The Luncheon on the Grass” and “Olympia”, both painted in 1863, caused great controversy and they are considered watershed paintings that mark the genesis of modern art. In a Park is one of his easiest and most serene.  We think In A Park by Edouard Manet is one of his finest paintings – and lesser known. Looks beautiful in the simplest of stitches with a fine thread such as floss or silk, which we are happy to select and add to help complete the 11″ x 13″ canvas.  Available on 14, 16 or 18 mesh nono deluxe needlepoint canvas.  Please indicate your mesh preference in the note section at checkout.  This is sized smaller for anyone who loves the master painters but has been hesitant to tackle one – and can travel easily.  Please contact us if you would like us to help with stitch suggestions or add threads to the canvas. Available in alternate sizes
