Description
This is a detail from a crewelwork picture with yarns on plain-woven natural linen from the Decorative Folk Art collection of the Winterthur Museum. The picture is thought to be a fragment of a petticoat hem that was worked between 1740 and 1760 in New England. This picture is one out of four fragments that make up a continuous flat landscape scene with trees, some bearing fruit, flowers, and animals on hilly ground. Display in a frame on its own or in conjunction with the others in the series, or make into beautiful cushions. Beautiful vibrant colors and lovely composition; measures 12″ x 16.5″ on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are happy to select and add all the appropriate colors of wool or silk threads to help complete. Please indicate your mesh preference in the notes section at checkout. Please contact us if you would like us to add your choice of fibers. Available in alternate larger sizes.
