Description
This Fraktur Canvas features a large scallop-bordered circle at center which contains a drawing of a red griffin, facing the viewer’s left, with a pearl in its mouth, and four lines of text handwritten in German cursive script in iron gall and red inks, the single line at bottom with date. Smaller, double sawtooth-bordered circle with additional inscription at top center. Two scallop-bordered hearts at bottom left and right contain the blessing. Border designs include two blue birds perched on flowering branches flanking the smaller circle at top, three thorny stems with ovoid-shaped leaves and red berries sprouting from each of the hearts, and double-leaved plants with wavy, leaf-like blossoms in all four corners and at centers of sides. Entire design enclosed by an inner green band and outer sawtooth border.
