Earth has experienced five distinct extinctions epochs millions of years ago.During the past 100–200 years, biodiversity loss and species extinction have accelerated, to the point that most conservation biologists now believe that humankindhas either entered a period of mass extinction, or is on the cusp of doing so. As such, the event has also been referred to as the sixth mass extinction or sixth extinction. Join us in our mission to help in small but steady measure, one canvas at a time with any one of our canvases/kits for charity. The majority of macaws are now endangered in the wild; several are highly or critically endangered, others are threatened with extinction and five or more species are already extinct – mainly due to the rapid rate of deforestation, hunting, and the illegal trapping for the pet trade. Proceeds from the bird Extinction Series will go to one of three charities depending on the species: American Bird Conservancy, Nature Conservancy, and The Ocean Conservancy. Kit includes this beautiful Macaw measures 11″ x 14″ on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas and all the silk or silk/merino wool blend threads needed to complete. 100% of the proceeds goes to charity.
