Description
At the center of the Deposition stands the Cross, from which Joseph of Arimathea, St. John and Nicodemus are taking down the body of Christ. Painted by Fra Agnelico in 1430’s it is set in a late Gothic frame and divided into three by pointed arches. The detail for this canvas is part of the scene of the springtime landscape which adorns the upper left area of this monumental painting. This is meant to accompany the Fra Angelico Deposition of the Cross 2 detail canvas, but is equally nice on its own. Measures 11″ x 15″ on 14 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas.
