Description
Daughters Suitors of the Northern Lights by Gerhard Munthe was painted in 1897. A fair number of his art is loosely based on Norse legends, folklore and myths. Perspective is discarded, and firm, curved outlines surround areas of strong and unmixed colours. The colours are used to evoke particular moods and were also chosen as seeming typically Norwegian. Best rendered in silk fibers which we are happy to select and add to help complete this 12″ x 15″ mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. This is the smallest of several sizes, including a wall hanging size nearest the original art. Please indicate whether you prefer a 14, 16 or 18 count in the notes section at checkout just before submit order. If you do not provide a preference, we will send the more popular 14 mesh. Please contact us if you would like us to add your choice of fibers.
