Description
Known for his gold folding screens, Kōrin broke away from all tradition and developed a very original and distinctive style of his own, both in painting and in the decoration of lacquer. The characteristic of this is a bold impressionism, which is expressed in few and simple highly idealized forms, with an absolute disregard for naturalism and the usual conventions. His work is subtle yet strong. Rather sophisticated though easy to stitch. The Cranes pictured here measures 10″ x 22″ on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. This is also available as a cropped version with just the cranes for a tote or a pillow measuring 12″ x 13″ to make into a tote bag or 14″ x 15″ or larger for a pillow. We are partial to silk threads, and will be happy to select and add your choice of fibers to help complete. Please indicate your mesh preference in the note section at checkout. If you do not provide a preference, we will send the popular 14 count. Please contact us if you would like us to add your choice of fibers.
