Description
In 1878, May Morris, daughter of William Morris, enrolled to study embroidery at what is now the Royal College of Art. With her father teaching her to draw and design at home and the college requiring sketchbook records, May acquired a habit of observation and sketching that continued throughout her life. Most of her surviving sketches are favorite landscapes and interiors, but her botanical studies hint at the simple elegance that characterizes her designs. This stunning tapestry is one grand example of her abilities. Measures 14″ x 14″ – the smaller of several sizes – is available on 14, 16 or 18 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are happy to select and add all the perfect colors in pretty, durable, easy-to-use silk thread to help complete. Please indicate your mesh preference in the note section at checkout just before submit order. We shall send the 14 count if you do not provide a preference. Please contact us if you would like us to add threads to this gorgeous canvas that is well worth the effort – good for nearly all skill levels. Available in alternate sizes, including rug sizes.
