Description
This Petticoat Border is a reproduction of an original from the Winterthur collection that was a rectangular panel of plain-woven tan linen with crewel embroidery; design consists of rolling hillocks with trees, flowers, birds, sheep, dogs, deer, rabbits, squirrel, and butterflies; stitches are flat, outline, fishbone, satin, and bullion. The canvas is a mono deluxe needlepoint canvas and an exact duplication of the design from the early 1700’s from the Winterthur Museum’s American Decorative Arts. This canvas would be great for a lumbar or bolster pillow. We are happy to select and add wool, silk and some metallic threads if you wish to help complete the 7″ x 16″ mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. Available in 14, 16 or 18 mesh.
