Description
This Fraktur Red Bird Canvas is a Horizontal, rectangular sheet of cream-colored paper with an ink and watercolor
drawing of a large flowering plant with a large bird perched on tulip at top and three
pairs of small mosaic-patterned roundels on fuzzy stems below. A pair of red birds
flank base of plant. Inner border area filled in with dotted scrolled elements. Entire
design bordered by wide, multicolored, checkered bands. This is an original image from the early 1800’s from the Winterthur Museum’s American Decorative Arts.
