“The rights of the imagination are greater than any other rights”, a phrase artist Anne Ryan was known to pass along. A designer for ballet costumes and backdrops, as well as a poet and novelist, Anne Ryan began paper and fabric collages later in her life (which are all numbered rather than named) in the mid to late 1940’s. She died young, shortly after some prominent exhibits across the country, but she remains an icon in the collage genre. We hope you enjoy the series we have adapted to needlepoint.
