In 1911, the year this painting was painted, Bonnard traveled several times to St. Tropez. We find it a magical study of light and water. It is a delightful canvas to stitch, for the more experienced stitcher who wants a light yet sophisticated piece, as well as the beginner looking for a challenge without being overly complicated.
