Bertrand-Jean Redon better known as Odilon Redon was a Symbolist painter and printmaker, born in
Bordeaux, Aquitaine, France. Odilon was a nickname derived from his
mother, Odile.'Like music', he declared, 'my drawings transport us to the ambiguous world of the indeterminate.' The Golden Cell is very moody, but very wonderful. Measures 16" x 19" on 14 mesh mono deluxe needlepoint canvas. We are partial to wool threads for this piece, but are equally happy to select appropriate wool, pearle cotton or silk threads to help complete. If you prefer a different mesh, please indicate your choice of 12 or 18 in the Notes section at Checkout. Also available in a smaller and a larger size, as well as rug canvas.
