Maria Sibylla Merian was a fine painter and superb naturalist, and one of
the first woman scientists we know of. Her observations of insects and
their relationships with plants revolutionized botany and zoology. This
beautiful still life is called Flowers Tied at Stem and is a wonderful piece for a beginner looking for a challenge that won't be extremely so, and for the more experienced stitcher who loves delicate and simple ways to create a unique piece.
