A Spaniard who worked all of his life in France, Juan Gris  was one of the leading figures in Cubism. Friends with Leger, Matisse and Modigiliani, Gris painted many wonderful canvases in his brief life. We love Guitar Still Life, which is one of several in a series of everyday objects.
