That's easy. . . It gives me a creative outlet - so many beautiful things to stitch. Stitching is mesmerizing and therefore, very relaxing. Something needed in our fast paced world. It is very easy to fix if you make a mistake. . . LOL - you can simply remove the error and re-stitch or make it part of the pattern Shelley B

I love to share my love for needlepoint with people I love - when I give them something I've made, I believe I've given them a part of me. The second reason I love needlepoint is it looks elegant. The third thing is something I would like to learn this year - how to finish my needlework (for example, a Christmas stocking) so it looks professional.

l) Stitching is something I NEED to do every day to relax and keep in touch w/ my inner self.
2) This year, I'd like to improve shading techniques, learn new stitches, and appreciate each canvas for it's potential results, and not stitch a canvas just because it strikes my fancy.
3) I'd like to teach needlepoint to at least one person this year, so that they may realize the joy and peace of stitching.

1. I was afraid I would not be able to needlepoint after a car accident in which I broke every bone in my right hand and lost my pointer finger. After six surgeries and years of therapy I am gtatefully needlepointing again. 2. All I have to do is pick up a canvas and my heart rate slows. What a powerful relaxer. 3. Even though I am no very artistic I can still create beautiful things for family and friends. I even did an abstract canvas of hands for my hand surgeon.

lots to learn!!! 3 highlights: contemporary designs, learn to design patterns myself, color transitions (kind of like 'shading' but wider topic).

I have not long started my journey into the world of needlepoint so I feel like I have a lifetime of learning to do! But to start with I would like to learn:
1. Many, many more stitches;
2. The best way to do transfers; and
3. How to stop downloading every beautiful free pattern I see!

Not sure if just three reasons will do....
1. It brings back wonderful memories of my Mom and how patient she was trying to make 7 year old fingers work thru the "square holes"
2. I am always surprised at the beautiful results.... and amazed at the magic of what can come from a maze of symbols on a black and white chart.
3. The joy of sharing this art with my daughters and granddaughters.

I love the way the designs look on the fabric. I am still learning and want to learn more. Shading is something I want to learn more of. I want to learn the bullian stitch. Needlepoint is one of the very first needle crafts my mom taught me - we worked on one piece together. 1. I love to work on needlepoint because it's easy. 2. I find it very enjoyable to bring colourful life to a piece that is otherwise quite blah without yarn. 3. There is so much variety in needlepoint - the yarn, the designs, the stitches, the canvases, etc.

What I love about needlepoint is how the repetition calms the ADD,how the colours soothe my eye, & how the design comes to life, inch by inch.
What I would like to learn is how to prep my canvas & then finish it properly. I can never seem to get it done to my satisfaction.

1. I love how things learned in needlepoint, like the bouillon stitch can be used for garment hand sewing to knot the end of your thread. 2. I love how generous the online sewing community is with free patterns & giveaways. 3. I like how fanciful needlepoint can be. And just because, 4. I love needlepoint because it kept me out of trouble when I was young, it is a skill for life (how many times has your partner come to you with a rip in his trousers?)and it is a dying art that we can revive through our children.

1) It's easy to get fine resolution in your designs. Time consuming, but easy.

I don't know the first thing about needlepoint, except what I've seen is beautiful. However, I find most crafts very good therapy, so that would be #2. My friend in Ireland and I are hoping to do some crafts with threads this year, and needlework would fit right in. Help me get started.

I love to needlepoint because it is so relaxing. The repetitive motion is very calming. Even if you only spend a few minutes a day needlepointing you can make great progress on the pattern. And the sense of accomplishment makes me want to show everyone what I've done.

I love the beauty, the creativity you can have and the fact that the scale is larger than cross stitch. I need to learn everything about needlepoint , I know nothing. I enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and design sewing but have never tried needlepoint. I'm looking forward to trying it.

I like to get lost in the rhythm of needlepoint. I find it calming and meditative and get joy from watching the images/patterns emerge. I would like to learn techniques to make my work come to life through texture and shading.

The 3 things I like most about needlepoint are:
1. Variety of stitches and techniques
2. I find the process of putting the needle through the canvas theraputic

I love needlepoint becausee it allows me a great range of creativity in stitches. It's soothing at the end of the day. And I like that you can see your progress more quickly than in some other forms of needlework (like XS)
